A Co-facilitated Approach to Couples Therapy

One of the biggest barriers to approaching couples therapy is one partner fearing they will be the person how is wrong, or to blame.

Our approach is to recognise that issues happen within a dynamic which both parties hold their own responsibility for.

It's going to be important for you that space feels balanced and emotionally safe. This is why we work as two facilitators. It allows us to hold multiple perspectives at the same time, reduce the risk of imbalance, and ensure that both partners feel equally heard and respected.

You need a place where you do not feel blamed, judged, or marginalised but are understood with compassion, not just managed.

Do you find yourself talking in circles, repeating the same old arguments, coming to insight but then nothing really changing?

Having two facilitators to keep clear direction and help maintain momentum, offering practical guidance, clear feedback and according to rules of engagement will hopefully give you a sense that the sessions are heading somewhere.

You may be looking for counsellors who are able to gently but clearly challenge unhelpful patterns, name what’s happening in the room and interrupt cycles before they escalate so that the space is conducive to change.

We will manage the pace of treatment, help with skills to regulate intense emotion and reflect on what may be happening beneath the surface.

We will focus not on who is right, but your individual and shared vision for your relationship.

You do not need to be a therapist know that having two counsellors present makes more sense. Why not give us a try?
