Patterns
Understanding the repeated cycles that draw people closer or push them apart.
Quartet is an emerging framework for understanding the patterns that influence closeness, attraction, emotional safety, conflict and lasting connection.
It is being developed to bring together clear psychological ideas, practical relationship tools and a more nuanced way of thinking about what helps relationships remain alive.
Framework in developmentFour interconnected dimensions. One developing framework.
Relationships are not sustained by one skill or one conversation. They are shaped by interacting patterns: how people regulate closeness, interpret threat, maintain individuality, experience desire and repair after disconnection.
Quartet is being developed as a practical way of bringing those patterns together without reducing a relationship to a checklist or a single theory.
The first public version will include explanations, reflective tools and practical ways of recognising where a relationship is strong, where it is strained and what may help it move forward.
Understanding the repeated cycles that draw people closer or push them apart.
Looking at emotional safety, responsiveness and the experience of being known.
Exploring desire, attraction, novelty, intimacy and the conditions that help erotic energy survive.
Translating insight into practical experiments, different conversations and more useful choices.
Quartet is still being refined. This page will eventually become the home of the full framework, its methods and the first public version of the Pillars of Passion.
